Hey Y’all!
As you can see, I am from Texas! My name is Jennifer S. Rodriguez and I currently teach 6th grade ELAR. I have been teaching ELAR for 6 years in the middle school setting. I have taught grades 6th-7th and I must say that 8th grade is my favorite because the literature gets better. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction w/a concentration in reading.
My teaching philosophy is that “Every child, no matter their background can learn.” This is why I run my classroom with hands-on engaging activities and group work. I also believe that children learn from one another, and this is why “respecting one another” is my number one rule to follow. I also believe in the “power of writing,” and have my students write on a daily basis.
Besides teaching, I love to cook, work out, travel, shop and explore the outdoors with my family.
